Get EC in your Local Pharmacy

For consumers 17 and older with proof of age, EC is available without a prescription in pharmacies in all 50 states! Read more.

EC is a safe and effective way to prevent pregnancy — even after sex! Use EC if:

  • Your contraception didn’t work
  • You had unprotected sex
  • You were forced to have sex

In 9 states (Alaska, California, Hawaii, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Washington and Vermont) women of any age may get EC directly from specially trained pharmacists without providing an advance prescription.

You don’t need to visit your doctor/clinic first.

Find a Local Youth-Friendly Pharmacy

The Youth-Friendly Pharmacy Initiative (YFPI) seeks to improve youth sexual and reproductive health by making pharmacies more accessible and useful to teens.

It's easy and convenient to go to your local pharmacy to:

  • Buy EC, condoms, lube or pregnancy tests or other related products
  • Talk with the pharmacist about preventing sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
  • Get information and referrals for other sexual and reproductive health services
